National Bohemian 9" Tin Sign
Why order this Tin National Bohemian 9" Sign?
This National Bohemian Beer sign is perfect for collectors of breweriana. The beer was originally owned by the National Brewing Company, which began brewing it in 1885. Pabst Brewing Company later bought it, and the beer is brewed to this day in Albany Georgia and Trenton, Ohio at the Molson Coors brewing facilities. At one point, the company's president, Jerald Hoffberger, owned the Baltimore Orioles, and in the 1960's, it became that city's official beer. Today, all but about 10% of the company's sales come from Baltimore.
The brewery would have sent this type of sign to restaurants and bars to promote their products. They did not charge the establishments, as it provided free advertising for both businesses. The sign is made from tin and weighs about six ounces. It dates back to the 1950's. What is remarkable about this piece is that it remains in excellent condition. Signs like this were often used heavily and as a result were typically damaged. This one comes with a certificate of authenticity, the essential piece of documentation that avid collectors seek when growing their breweriana collections.
