Goodyear Service Station Porcelain Sign
Why add the Goodyear Service Station Porcelain Sign to your collection?
This Goodyear Service Station Porcelain Sign may go quick! But what do you call "collecting Goodyear"? Is this piece "Petroliana"? Is it "Automobilia"? Is it "collecting stuff from companies with blimps"? Or is it simply collecting vintage Americana from a global leader in its field? The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1898. The company is headquartered in Akron, OH and has been a manufacturer of tires and vulcanized rubber for over a century.
Goodyear Service Station Porcelain Sign
This is an excellent example of a 1930's Goodyear Service Station Sign. The blue, space background offsets the goldenrod printing. The boot of Mercury appears amid the printing. The Earth--encircled by one of Goodyear's iconic "Good Wear" tires appears to the left of the printing. The sign is truly a blockbuster that deserves to be at the center of your "companies with blimps" collection!
Excellent Porcelain Sign
The sign itself is 2 x 6 feet and weighs a whopping 40 pounds. These signs are seldom found in this condition. They were subject to all manner of abuse in service stations and industrial facilities over the years. This sign is certainly not something that you see every day. This vintage piece includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
