1930 Coca Cola Diecut Christmas Bottle Thermometer
One of the smartest marketing moves made by Coca-Cola over the years was to create pieces that were more than just signs advertising their product. They created items which were useful and served a purpose, ensuring that their brand would remain front and center for years to come. That’s certainly the case with these thermometers. Though Coca-Cola thermometers are not incredibly difficult to find, especially at large collector shows like the one held twice a year in Indianapolis, these pieces are rather extraordinary due to their fabulous condition. Often, collectors will hunt these pieces down only to find that the thermometers are missing, not working or are reproductions. But all three of these pieces are 100% genuine. This piece is a single-sided, tin embossed (SSTE) classic representation of the 1923 Christmas Bottle design, complete with the words “Bottle Pat’D. Dec. 25, 1923” right on the design. It was made by American Art World Inc. in Coshocton, Ohio, and features vibrant colors and has survived in excellent condition.
