Coca-Cola Warplane Cardstock Sign
Why add the Coca-Cola Warplane Cardstock Sign to your collection?
This Coca-Cola Warplane Cardstock Sign was printed in 1943. This piece comes from a set of 20 images that were produced as part of the marketing effort to get and keep Americans in a patriotic mood (and a mood to drink Coke) in the early days of World War II. Coca-Cola and America are intertwined. Part of the reason Coca-Cola is a globally recognized brand is that G.I.s wanted their Coke. America defended freedom through the 20th Century and supplied Coke to our boys is just one way Coke became recognized all over the globe.
Coca-Cola Warplane Cardstock Sign
This sign series was printed to resemble a framed picture. On the picture one of America's iconic WW2 era aircraft was depicted. Sometimes the scenes involved battles with enemy aircraft, sometimes the aircraft were just involved in bombing runs or depicted in service in some way. Beneath the image is a printed area that resembles a plate with identifying information about the aircraft and the scene. Along the bottom edge of the image is the iconic Coke bottle and the Coca-Cola Red Button Logo. There are 20 signs in the set. This is for a single cardstock sign from the set.
